I am a Huge believer in keeping your gut healthy. A major portion of your immune system lies in your intestines. If your gut is healthy, you have a much better chance of warding off illnesses and staying well.  

With Cold and Flu season fast approaching, I like to stock my freezer with some jars of rich and healthy bone broth. I use grass fed beef bones or organic free range chicken bones and a few organic veggies, like onions, garlic, carrots, parsley, and celery. You can also add some ginger root, rosemary, dried mushrooms, or other herbs. Roasting the bones first...

When the days get warm, a great way to start the day is with a Smoothie Bowl. 

A thick rich smoothie, loaded with greens, frozen fruit and good nutrients can be topped with

crunchy granola, coconut, toasted seeds and anything else you fancy. My Favorite is coconut, mango and granola. Let your imagination run wild, but keep it Organic.

Most people do not get enough water in a day. Chapped lips, congestion, dry skin, bowel or digestion issues all can be helped by hydrating your body. Since drinking enough plain water can be boring, I like to have infused water ready to go. Keep a big container in your fridge to help you remember to drink up. I like fresh herbs, organic fruits or a combination, like lemon and rosemary. Kids will be more likely to drink lots of water, if it's colorful and full of fun healthy flavors. 

Don't deprive yourself of a treat once in a while. This will will leave you feeling Really Good !

I have found that one of the best ways to get your kids to be healthier eaters, is to let them shop and cook with you. Yes, it may be a little more effort, but letting them be involved in the choices and the preparation of meals, will definitely give them a vested interest in eating better. Start them off early with Good Nutrittion for a life time of healthy habits.

Easy Vegan Cookies ~filled with goodness !

Whisk together 

1/4 Cup Sunflower or liquid Coconut oil

1/4 Cup Real Maple Syrup

1 Tblsp. Water

1 Tsp. Vanilla

In a seperate bowl, mix

1/2 cup + 2 Tblsp. Rolled Oats

1/2 Cup WW Flour or Almond Flour

Pinch of salt 

Additions of your choice ( 2 or 3 ) 1/3 cup ea. 

Chocolate, Walnut

Dried Cherry and Almonds

Raisins and cinnamon

Cacao Nibs and coconut

Mix Dry and wet ingredients together and allow it to sit for about 3 minutes.

Drop carefully, the dough will seem too loose, but it will cook together as one.

Bake in preheated 350* oven for aprox. 5...
